Home for the Summer
Summer is a time for many of vacation and travel. A break from the routine of the school year, the weather is finally nice enough to do outdoor recreational activities and drive safely on roads, the possibilities seem endless (with the exception of an endless budget). While some are able to travel to exciting and faraway places, often summer is the best time to enjoy what we have close to home. There is a popular meme that says, “what are you doing this weekend?” me: “enjoying my mortgage and utilities.” Truthfully though, we put a lot of effort and money into maintaining our homes and yards, we should enjoy them in the peak season. Also, there are often many local attractions and events so that you can easily fill up your summer with fun and relaxation right where you are. It’s good to get away, have unique experiences and a change of scenery, however it can often lead to appreciating what you already have, the comfort of your own bed, the familiarity of the roads you travel daily and the people you do life with.
Lethbridge is a great place to live. While many people are moving to Alberta due to cost of living and work opportunities (an additional 16,200 people started to call Alberta home last month), Lethbridge is a particularly attractive choice. With quick access to the mountains, the US border and much outdoor recreation and scenery, it is easy to fill up a weekend with activity. Short commute times and minimal traffic are also very appealing. With more sunny days and not so many weather related natural disasters than some places, the windy days can be tolerated. A variety of education institutions and economic industries leads to diversity and opportunity. Truly, Lethbridge and area is a great place to call home.
