Staffing & Operations Manager / Owner

Lorie Hayes

Lorie has seen Hire Standard through all the phases of growth and change since 2008, providing stability and commitment.  She is a dedicated, thorough and competent staffing professional.  Her well-rounded skill set is a great match for the diversity of tasks she manages at Hire Standard.  Lorie’s attention to detail, commitment to process and genuine care for our client’s best interest make her exceptional at human resources management and business operations.  As a member of CPHR Alberta, Lorie excels in executive recruiting, background screening and interviewing with her pragmatic and investigative approach. Lorie has an above average knowledge and interest in sports and enjoys keeping up with her active, athletic family.  She is a member of the Original Lethbridge Breakfast Club.


Staffing Advisor

Emma Goerzen

As the founder of Hire Standard, Emma has been the visionary since its inception and over 15 years of growth and development.  With over 20 years of senior management and staffing industry experience, Emma has been instrumental in the success of many Southern Alberta businesses. She is an expert in recruiting, business development, customer service and understanding company culture. Emma’s professionalism shines in executive level recruiting, and she has a proven, collaborative approach in working with boards and councils in executing a recruitment.  Emma’s vision, reputation and work ethic make her a trustworthy and respected advisor. She is community focused, serving on several committees over the years, and giving back through volunteering. 


Staffing Manager - Temporary Division

Amber Standen

Amber has been with Hire Standard since 2017 as the temporary staffing division manager. She comes from a multi-generational farming family and has 20 years construction/home renovation experience as she co-owned a home renovation business. She is just as comfortable on a work site as in an office. Amber has an engaging rapport with her client contacts and temporary workers. Amber is open to trying new things, thinking outside the box and making quality connections with people. Amber’s family regularly welcomes international home-stay students for short and longer term placements. She is married to an army veteran and they spent a number of years living in England. Amber belongs to the Southern Alberta Women in Business, Eastern Star and the Kinette Club of Lethbridge. She also actively supports the 2296 Royal Army Cadet Core. Don’t let her small size fool you - she has been seen at the farmers market lifting a 50lb bag of onions onto her shoulder and walking out while wearing heels and a skirt.


Permanent Staffing Manager / Client Services

Megan Olsen

Megan joined the team in 2021 and is a positive, amiable colleague. Working as a recruiter and connecting with existing and new clients comes naturally for her. With nearly 20 years management and customer service experience, she excels at communicating with our clients and applicants. Her warmth and humor are a strength for making others feel comfortable. Megan worked as an operations manager for a hotel for 17 years and has experienced the variety of responsibility and challenge of that dynamic environment. She is always willing to help where needed, learn something new and lighten the mood with her spontaneous wit. Megan is dependable, thoughtful and a great storyteller. An avid traveler, Megan has been to Asia multiple times, among other exciting destinations. She is a member of the Lethbridge Breakfast Club.


Communications Manager

Stephanie Bekkering

Stephanie has been a trusted and valued Hire Standard employee over the years.  Starting in 2007, she has performed a variety of duties and is now flourishing in the role of Communications Manager.  Stephanie enjoys the variety and challenge found working for a small business that is always innovative and growing.  She especially loves working with a collaborative and encouraging team.  Stephanie strives for efficiency and excellence in her work to help Hire Standard be a recognized and reputable staffing and background screening service provider. Stephanie has been a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach since 2021 and she holds a BA in General Social Sciences from the University of Lethbridge.  She keeps busy with her family and is an active volunteer in the community including sitting on the Board of Directors with Rehoboth Christian Ministries, serving people with disabilities.

We believe in giving back and that is why we’ve partnered with the Lethbridge College and started the “Hire Standard Administrative Office Professional Award” where one student in financial need, working towards bettering their life through education, will be given $2000 towards their program costs.
