Staffing Industry Recognition Week

June 2 – 8, 2024 is marked to acknowledge the impact of the staffing industry on the national workforce and economy. “Staffing for Canada Week”, was first introduced in Edmonton in 1980 as “National Temporaries Week”. This annual occasion celebrates the contributions of the millions of individuals employed by and through staffing firms.

Staffing professionals often work behind the scenes to support the labour force of businesses and organizations. They facilitate employment opportunities between job seekers and employers. Companies use staffing firms to fill talent gaps, handle seasonal demands, and navigate project-specific requirements by leveraging temporary workers. This flexibility allows organizations to optimize their workforce and maintain operational efficiency. Even companies with HR departments and staff enlist the services of staffing firms to help them with their hiring needs. Whether it’s for temporary or permanent employees, staffing professionals can take the time of screening and interviewing off their client’s plate. By understanding the specific needs of businesses and matching them with qualified candidates, staffing professionals contribute to the growth and success of companies across various industries.

While the challenges and demands of working in staffing and recruiting are ever present, there is immense satisfaction of matching employees with jobs and finding great candidates for employers. We also really enjoy learning about a variety of companies, jobs and industries, while fostering meaningful relationships built over years of trusted partnership. The team at Hire Standard is thankful for the opportunity to work and contribute in the staffing industry and amongst the business community of southern Alberta.
