A Great Hire is in the Details

I was going though some of our company's marketing materials from the over the 12 years we've been in business. What I was pleased to see was that our messaging, services and core values have remained constant. When you have a great product or service and you believe in what you do, sharing that information is easy. The main message that stands out in our company's unique service is the importance of providing background screening as part of the recruitment process.

When Hire Standard started in 2006, Emma was only doing Criminal Record Checks and Referencing. From her background in staffing, she felt that there was a gap in hiring when there was no process for verifying the information provided by the applicant. The risk involved in hiring can range from the wrong fit leading to decreased staff moral and productivity, to the cost of training time with turnover, or even fraud from someone with a criminal or poor financial background. The best predictor of the future is the past. By checking an applicant's criminal record, credit, credentials and references, you can have confidence and peace of mind in your hire, knowing you have all the information.

We often encounter "bad habits" in hiring practices. "Going with your gut" is one that is common. When you have a process for pre-screening and background checking, you take the guess work and "gut instinct" out of this important decision. At Hire Standard, we care about what's best for our client, more that we care about filling the role quickly. It's better to be thorough, informed and confident then it is to fill a position with anybody. Don't take a chance on your next hire, include background screening as part of your hiring process. Check twice, hire once!
